Our courses

Online Quran courses for every stage.

From your very first Arabic letter to memorizing the whole Quran — choose a structured course, or ask us for a custom plan. Every course is taught one-on-one by a qualified tutor, including Shining Star Classes for children with ADHD, autism and other learning differences.

How they fit together

Two tracks: reading the Quran, and understanding it

The nine courses are not nine separate subjects so much as two paths that meet. The reading track runs in order: Noorani Qaida teaches the letters and how to join them, Tajweed adds the rules of correct pronunciation, Recitation builds fluency and rhythm, and Hifz is memorization with correct Tajweed throughout.

The understanding track can start as soon as you can read, or even while you are learning to. Quran Translation teaches meaning word by word as you recite, Tafsir goes deeper into context and classical scholarship, and Quran & Hadith shows how the guidance was lived and explained. Alongside both, Arabic Language & Grammar teaches the language itself, and Islamic Studies covers the foundations of the faith.

Finding your level

How to pick a starting point

Start from what you can do today, not from your age. Children and adults use the same courses; the teacher adjusts the pace and the approach.

  • You can't read the Arabic letters yet: Noorani Qaida.
  • You read, but you're unsure of your pronunciation: Tajweed.
  • You read correctly and want to sound fluent and confident: Recitation.
  • You're ready to commit to memorizing: Hifz.
  • You recite but don't know what the words mean: Quran Translation.
  • You want the context and lessons behind the verses: Tafsir, or Quran & Hadith.
  • You want to understand Arabic itself: Arabic Language & Grammar.
  • You're new to Islam, or teaching your own children the basics: Islamic Studies.

Not sure? That is what the free trial is for. The teacher assesses your level and confirms where to begin, and for children with ADHD, autism or other learning differences there is Shining Star Classes, with fixed 15-minute sessions and specially trained teachers.

Inside a lesson

What a lesson looks like

Every class is live, one-on-one and 30 minutes long, whichever course you take. The material changes from course to course, but most lessons follow the same shape:

1

Review

You read back or recite what you covered last time, so the teacher can check it has stuck before moving on.

2

Something new

The teacher introduces the next letters, rule, passage or topic and demonstrates it.

3

Guided practice

You read or recite while the teacher listens and corrects in real time.

4

Practice for next time

You leave with specific pages or passages to practice, so progress builds from class to class.

Hifz adds its own rhythm: revising recent memorization, adding a new portion verse by verse, and cycling back through older sections so they stay firm. With the teacher's and support team's consent, sessions can be recorded so you can listen back between classes.

Common questions

Online Quran courses — FAQs

Which course should I start with? +
It depends on where you are now, not on your age. If you can't yet read the Arabic letters, start with Noorani Qaida. If you can read but want to pronounce every letter correctly, start with Tajweed. If you want to understand what you recite, start with Quran Translation. In your free trial the teacher assesses your level and confirms the best starting point.
Do I need to read Arabic before I start? +
No. Noorani Qaida starts from the very first letter, for children and adults alike. Quran Translation also doesn't require you to master Arabic grammar first; it teaches meaning word by word as you recite.

Every class is one-on-one and 30 minutes long. You choose from one to five classes a week, and you pick the days and times in your own time zone.
