Three jurisdictions, one region

Families in the capital region live with something unusual: the District, Maryland and Virginia are separate jurisdictions with their own school systems, and plenty of households have a parent working in one, children at school in another and a home in the third. Getting everyone to an in-person class across the Beltway at rush hour is a logistical exercise in its own right.

An online class sidesteps all of it. The lesson does not care which side of the Potomac you live on, which school calendar you follow or how bad the traffic is on I-495 tonight.

Eastern Time, and a long working day

DC runs on Eastern Time, so our class hours apply exactly as written: 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM, seven days a week.

Late slots for long commutes

Commutes in the region are long, and a parent who gets home at seven can still sit in on a lesson at eight or nine.

An early lesson before the Metro

Classes start at 6:00 AM, so an adult learner can finish a lesson before catching the train.

Weekends without the drive

Saturday and Sunday mornings are open from 6:00 AM, useful for families whose weekdays are already full.

Serving Washington, DC and beyond

Online Quran classes for families across Washington, DC, Arlington, Alexandria, Silver Spring, Bethesda, and Fairfax

Because every class is held over live video, the jurisdiction you live in makes no difference. Students in Rockville, Falls Church, Hyattsville and Reston have the same teachers and the same hours as students in the District.

Why families in Washington, DC choose us

Our classes run from 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM Eastern, 7 days a week, so a DC-area family can book a lesson before the commute, after school or late in the evening, wherever they live in the region. Each lesson pairs one student with one of our 100+ qualified teachers, and female teachers are available in Arlington, Alexandria, Silver Spring, Bethesda and Fairfax as everywhere else. We started teaching online in 2010, now teach 2,500+ students, and every new student's first class is a free 30-minute trial.

Snow days, short winter evenings and late-August starts

Most schools in the region start in late August and finish in mid-June, but the District, Maryland and Virginia systems each set their own breaks, so siblings or cousins in different jurisdictions are not always off at the same time. A lesson with its own schedule is easier to protect than one that stops whenever any school does.

Winter weather has an outsized effect here: even a modest snowfall can close schools and slow the whole region. An online class keeps going on those days as long as the power and internet are on. If a storm knocks out your power or internet, contact our support team as soon as you can and they'll review the missed class under our make-up policy.

Winter evenings are short. Maghrib falls around 4:45 in early December and after 8:30 in late June, so the hour after Maghrib is an easy lesson slot in winter and a late one in summer.

What DC-area families ask before enrolling

What are your class hours?

Lessons can start any time from 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM, every day, on the Eastern Time the whole region uses.

What happens on a snow day?

Yes. Female teachers are available for girls and women — just ask when you book your free trial.
