Learn the Quran online in Houston, without the freeway.
AlQuranClasses teaches live, one-on-one Quran classes to children and adults across Greater Houston. Every lesson is held over video with a qualified teacher, female teachers are available, and the schedule is built around your family rather than around traffic.
A city where twenty minutes is never twenty minutes
Greater Houston is spread across a vast area. A drive from Katy to a class in Pearland can take an hour on a good day, and the trip to an evening class usually means the 610 Loop, Beltway 8 or I-10 at the worst possible hour.
That arithmetic quietly ends a lot of good intentions. A thirty-minute lesson that costs ninety minutes of driving gets skipped the first week homework runs late, and by October it has stopped. Taking the car out of the equation is the single biggest change for a Houston family: the lesson begins when the student opens the laptop and ends when they close it.

What Central Time means for a Houston schedule
Houston runs on Central Time, an hour behind the East Coast. Our class hours, 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM Eastern, work out to 5:00 AM to 10:30 PM in Houston, every day of the week.
The whole after-school window is open
From the end of the school day to bedtime, every hour falls inside our class hours. Many families choose a time between four and eight in the evening.
Early starts suit working adults
Lessons begin as early as 5:00 AM Houston time, which lets parents and professionals fit a class in before the commute rather than after it.
The clocks change together
Texas moves to daylight saving on the same dates as the East Coast, so the 5:00 AM to 10:30 PM window stays the same all year.

An August start and a storm season to plan around
Most Houston-area schools go back in the middle of August, weeks before much of the country, and finish around the end of May, with a Thanksgiving break, a winter break and a week of spring break in March in between. For a student who is memorizing, the long summer is the risk: ten weeks with nothing running is enough to lose real ground, while two or three short revision sessions a week keep it.
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June to the end of November, which covers the first months of every school year. When a storm closes roads, a class that needs no drive can usually go ahead as long as the power and internet are on. If a storm knocks out your power or internet, contact our support team as soon as you can and they'll review the missed class under our make-up policy.
Evenings shift with the season too. Maghrib falls around 5:20 in early December and after 8:20 in late June, so families who keep the hour after Maghrib free often set one lesson time for winter and another for summer.
