Online Quran classes for Metro Detroit, through the winter.
Metro Detroit children and adults, from the city to the northern suburbs, learn the Quran with us in private video lessons. Each lesson has one qualified teacher and one student, and a female teacher is available on request.
Winter on the freeways
Metro Detroit is a region of freeways: I-94, I-75, the Lodge and the Southfield all carry families across a wide area to school, work and everything else. In winter, with snow, ice and early dark, a weeknight drive to a Quran class is the first commitment to slip.
An online lesson keeps going through all of it. It happens at home, it starts on time, and a January snowstorm is no reason to miss it as long as the power and internet are on.

Building a Detroit week around the lesson
Detroit shares Eastern Time with New York, so there is no conversion: lessons run from 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM local time, every day.
For early-shift households
A 6:00 AM start means a parent coming off a night shift, or leaving for an early one, can still fit a lesson in.
Homework first, then Quran
Every hour from the end of school to 11:30 PM is open, so the lesson can wait until homework is done.
When the snowplows are out
A school snow day does not cancel an online class, provided the power and internet hold.
Taught by qualified Quran teachers
- Native Arabic speakers with detailed knowledge of Makhraj and Tajweed. Ijazah-certified teachers available on request for an additional 20%.
- Experienced in delivering a structured Islamic curriculum.
- A choice of male and female tutors to suit your preference.
- A Quran completion certificate is awarded when you finish your course.
Online Quran classes for families across Detroit, Dearborn, Hamtramck, Southfield, Warren, and Sterling Heights
Livonia, Troy, Canton and Novi are a long drive from downtown but no distance at all from a video lesson, and every family chooses from the same teachers.
Why families in Detroit choose us
Detroit-area families can book from 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM Eastern, any day of the week, so a lesson fits around shifts, school and winter weather without anyone getting on I-94. Each student has one teacher for the whole lesson, drawn from our team of 100+, and female teachers are available in Dearborn, Hamtramck, Southfield, Warren and Sterling Heights. Our classes have been online since 2010, more than 2,500 students learn with us now, and you can try the first one free for 30 minutes.
Short winter days and a long summer evening
Because Detroit lies well to the west within its time zone, its daylight swings widely. Maghrib comes at about five o'clock in December and after nine in late June, a difference of more than four hours, and the natural lesson slot moves with it.
Most Michigan districts start the school year around late August or early September and finish in June, with a winter break and a spring break in between. Winter is when an at-home lesson earns its keep: the evenings are long and dark, and nothing about the class depends on the roads. If a storm knocks out your power or internet, contact our support team as soon as you can and they'll review the missed class under our make-up policy.
Plenty of Metro Detroit parents work shifts, in manufacturing, healthcare and logistics among other industries, and shift work does not fit a class that starts at the same time every week. A one-on-one online lesson can be booked at whatever time the rota leaves free, from first thing in the morning to late at night.
