Online Quran classes in Paris, Wednesday afternoons included.
Across Paris and the Île-de-France suburbs, students read and recite the Quran with us in private online classes. Instruction is in English, every teacher is qualified, and girls and women can ask for a female teacher.
The French school week leaves Wednesday open
In much of France, primary schools have no classes on Wednesday afternoon, and in many communes no school on Wednesday at all. For a Paris family that is a ready-made slot in the middle of the week, and one that is easy to protect from homework and evening fatigue.
Our teaching day starts at midday Paris time, so a Wednesday afternoon lesson fits straight into that gap, with no journey on the Métro or RER to reach a class across the city.

Our hours in Paris
Six hours separate Paris from New York for most of the year, so lessons we schedule between 6:00 AM and 11:30 PM Eastern fall between midday and 5:30 AM Paris time.
Wednesday afternoons
With primary school out on Wednesday afternoon in much of France, the whole afternoon is open for a lesson.
Evenings on school days
After school and after dinner on other weekdays are inside our teaching day.
Spring and autumn changeover weeks
France's clocks change on the last Sundays of March and October; America's move earlier in spring and later in autumn, so for a few weeks lessons begin at 11:00 AM in Paris.

Zone C holidays and a long summer
Paris belongs to Zone C of the French school holiday system. The autumn (Toussaint) and Christmas breaks are national, while the February and spring breaks fall on different weeks for Zones A, B and C. The summer holiday runs through July and August.
Two weeks off in February and again in spring is long enough for a memorization student to lose ground if nothing continues. Short revision lessons across those breaks, and two or three a week through the summer, keep what was learned in place for September.
Our teachers instruct in English, and the Quran itself is read and recited in Arabic. A child who is used to studying in French is starting Quranic Arabic from the same place as any other beginner, so the language of instruction is rarely an obstacle.
Getting across Paris and the petite couronne in the evening means the Métro or RER at rush hour, often with a change or two, which turns a short class into an evening's outing. At home, the lesson takes exactly as long as the lesson.
