Learn the Quran online in Belgium, from home.
AlQuranClasses offers live, one-on-one online Quran classes for beginners, adults, and kids in Belgium — taught by fully vetted, hand-picked tutors from leading Islamic universities. Female teachers are available, and you set the schedule.
Two education systems in one country
Belgium organises its schooling through separate language communities, principally the Flemish and the French-speaking, and they do not share a calendar. Term dates, holiday weeks and the shape of the year differ between them, in a country small enough to cross in a couple of hours.
A family in Antwerp and a family in Liège are therefore working to different school years, and a household in Brussels may have children in either system depending on the school. It is the sort of detail that is invisible until two families try to share a tutor's consecutive slots and discover their breaks do not line up.

What the split does and does not affect
Calendars differ
Holiday weeks are not shared between the communities. Check the one your school belongs to rather than a national summary.
The clock does not
Central European Time applies throughout, changing on the same dates as the rest of continental Europe. There is no internal offset to manage.
Neither does the teaching
Lessons are in English with Quranic Arabic taught directly, so a child in Dutch-medium or French-medium schooling starts from exactly the same place.
Taught by qualified Quran teachers
- Native Arabic speakers with detailed knowledge of Makhraj and Tajweed, with Ijazah-certified tutors available at a higher rate.
- Experienced in delivering a structured Islamic curriculum.
- A choice of male and female tutors to suit your preference.
- A Quran completion certificate is awarded when you finish your course.
Online Quran classes for families across Belgium, including Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, and Charleroi
Because every class is held live over video, there's no commute and no fixed classroom location -- students join from Belgium, including Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, and Charleroi on a schedule built around Central European Time, with the same qualified, native Arabic-speaking tutors available to every family regardless of neighbourhood.
Why a third language is not a complication
Families in multilingual households sometimes worry that adding Quranic Arabic through English will be one language too many, particularly for a younger child already moving between Dutch or French at school and something else at home.
In practice the concern is usually misplaced, and for a reason worth stating. Quranic Arabic is not being taught as a conversational language here; it is being taught as a script to read accurately and a text to recite correctly. That is a narrower task than learning to speak a language, and it does not compete with the others for the same cognitive space in the way parents expect.
What does matter, far more than the language of instruction, is consistency of teacher. A student who keeps the same tutor through Qaida and into fluent recitation progresses faster than one who changes teacher twice, regardless of which languages are in the house. That is the argument for using the free trial to settle fit properly rather than treating it as a formality.
Belgium sits at around fifty to fifty-one degrees north, so the winter afternoons are short and the summer evenings long — enough that most families end up with a slightly earlier lesson from November and a later one from spring.
Students join from Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Charleroi and across both communities on identical terms.
What families in Belgium ask before enrolling
Our school follows the French-speaking calendar. Does that matter?
Only for your holiday dates. The communities keep different school years, so it is worth saying which applies when the schedule is set up.
Will a third language confuse a young child?
Less than parents usually fear. Quranic Arabic is taught here as reading and recitation rather than as conversation, which is a narrower task than learning to speak another language.
What language are lessons taught in?
English, with the Arabic taught directly. Children in Dutch-medium and French-medium schooling begin from the same point.
Is it important to keep the same tutor?
More important than almost anything else, particularly during memorisation. It is the main thing the free trial exists to settle.
Which parts of Belgium do you cover?
All of it. There is no catchment area and availability does not differ between regions.
How long should a lesson be?
Half an hour suits most students, taken several times a week. Without a journey attached a short lesson is worth booking in a way it would not otherwise be.
Can lessons run before school?
Yes, and for older students it is often the more durable slot. Evenings accumulate other commitments across a school year; early mornings rarely do.
Do you teach adult beginners?
Yes, and they are a substantial share of our students. Working through Qaida one-to-one avoids the awkwardness that stops many adults starting at all.
