Online Quran classes in Glasgow, built around a Scottish year.
Children and adults in Glasgow and the west of Scotland learn the Quran with us in private online lessons, live with a qualified teacher. Female teachers are available, and lessons fit around the Scottish school year.
A school year that does not match England's
Scottish schools run on their own calendar. The year begins in mid-August, weeks before schools in England go back, and ends in late June, with a week or two off in October, a Christmas break, a short February break and an Easter holiday.
For a Quran schedule that matters more than it seems. Advice written for families in England assumes a September start and a summer that runs into late August, and following it in Glasgow means planning the wrong weeks. An online lesson can follow your own calendar instead.

Our hours in Glasgow
Glasgow is five hours ahead of New York for most of the year, so our 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM Eastern teaching day becomes 11:00 AM to 4:30 AM there.
After school and evenings
Every hour from the end of the school day until late at night is inside our class hours.
Weekend mornings start late
The first weekend classes are available from late morning UK time.
Two clock changes, slightly out of step
The UK and US change their clocks a few weeks apart in spring and a week apart in autumn, so for those weeks the gap is four hours.

A video call reaches Renfrewshire, Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire as easily as the West End, so nobody's choice of teacher depends on their postcode.
Why families in Glasgow choose us
In Glasgow, classes are open from 11:00 AM until late in the evening, UK time, every day, so a lesson can go after school, after Maghrib or later, whatever the season. Students in Paisley, East Kilbride, Clydebank, Motherwell and Cumbernauld learn one-to-one with teachers from our team of 100+, female teachers included. It is how we have taught since 2010, for 2,500+ students today, and it starts with a free 30-minute trial class.
A northern city and very long summer days
Glasgow lies further north than anywhere in England, and the daylight shows it. In December the sun sets before four in the afternoon; in late June it does not set until after ten at night, and it never gets fully dark.
For families who time the evening around prayer, the summer is the hard part. Maghrib after ten and Isha later still leave no room for an after-Maghrib lesson for children, so from late spring most of the lesson planning moves to the afternoon or early evening. In winter the opposite happens, and the hour after Maghrib becomes an easy, early slot.
The early summer break also gives Scottish families a head start: from late June to mid-August there are about seven weeks without school, which is long enough for real progress if a few lessons a week keep running.

Your lesson follows your own schedule, so it fits the Scottish calendar as easily as any other. You can request a break around a school holiday with at least a week's notice, subject to teacher availability.
How do late summer sunsets affect lessons?
With Maghrib after ten in June, many Glasgow families move lessons to the afternoon in summer and back to the evening in winter.
