Our hours in Amsterdam
Shift our 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM Eastern schedule onto Dutch time and you get lessons from midday until 5:30 AM for most of the year.
After school
Lessons can start at any hour between the end of the school day and late at night.
Wednesday afternoons
Many Dutch primary schools finish early on Wednesday, and the afternoon is inside our teaching day.
Out-of-step weeks
Because the Netherlands and North America change their clocks on different Sundays, there are a few weeks each spring and autumn when our first slot is 11:00 AM Amsterdam time.

Region North holidays
Dutch school holidays are staggered across three regions, and Amsterdam belongs to Region North. The autumn, spring (voorjaars) and summer holidays are staggered by region and rotate from year to year, while the Christmas break is the same for everyone.
A family with relatives in another region, or a child at school outside Amsterdam, can find breaks falling in different weeks. Your own lesson does not move with either of them. Dutch winters are short on daylight, with sunset before half past four in December, while June sunsets come after ten, so a winter and a summer lesson time is often the simplest arrangement.
Amsterdam homes are often compact, so a lesson goes best with a fixed corner where the student can hear clearly and the teacher can see the book. Headphones help in a busy flat, and a parent nearby makes the first few lessons smoother for younger children.
