Can Muslims wear gold? Can Muslim men wear gold in Islam? Why cant muslim men wear gold? What about wearing silver? Can men wear rings, chains watches? What is Iislamic pendant? Are all types of jewelry haraam for men? What about gemstones?
Let’s have a look at a few a hadeeth:
`Abdullah ibn `Amr ibn Al-`Aas reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

If anyone from my ummah wears gold and dies wearing it, Allah will deny him the gold of Paradise. If anyone from my ummah wears silk and dies wearing it, Allah will deny him the silk of Paradise.” (Reported by Imam Ahmad.)

And at another place about gold and silk, the Prophet (sallAllaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said:

These two are forbidden for the men of my nation, permissible for the women.” (Abu Dawud no. 4057, An-Nasa’i no. 5147 and Ibn Majah no. 3595)

White Gold Wear in Islam, Platinum:

In the case of white wear gold in Islam, though it’s not pure gold still has a high percentage of gold. So It must not be used by men, while some consider it permissible. And Platinum is not allowed. And gemstones are permitted, but remember, ALLAH controls your fate. A piece of stone cannot make your wishes come true, so if you are wearing it for luck, be aware! You are going wrong whether you are a man or a woman.

Gold plating, Gold Alloys:

The prohibition of gold for men includes pure gold, gold alloys, cut pieces, joined pieces, gold inlay, etc. As for gold-plating and gilding, some scholars believe that such articles are forbidden for men if it is possible to extract gold from them (by peeling or shaving, for example); if one can extract no gold from them, then such items are permitted. But let’s have a look at the following hadeeth, which can help you in a better decision :

Whoever avoids doubtful matters has absolved himself (from wrong) in his religion and in his honor.” (Muslim no. 2090)

Isn’t your religion and honor more worth than a gold-plated watch or cuff link?

Why can’t men wear gold in Islam while it’s Halaal for women?

Allah, may He be glorified, has created humankind and made them of two genders, male and female, and He has given each of them its characteristics, which are suited to the role that each of them has to play in this life. So, Men have positions and tasks that women cannot do, and women have positions and jobs that men cannot do. In the same way, both have different interests. Likewise, their attire is other, and there are specific criteria of adornment and beautification for both genders. So a reason for the permission of gold and silver for women can be their delicate and gentle nature and inclination to like adornment. Allah says:

Do they then like for Allah a creature who is brought up in adornments (wearing gold and silk ornaments, i.e., women) and in dispute cannot make herself clear.” (Az-Zukhruf: 18)

As for men, it is a sign of instability and an un-masculine nature to adorn oneself with gold. Because Islam wants the differences between the sexes to be clearly defined and their distinctive characteristics to stand out because when they resemble each other, a lot of corruption results from that place.

Is all sort of jewelry haram?

Luckily no. If you are a man and want to wear some jewelry, there is an option. Hadeeth below can clarify many of your confusions:

It is Haram to wear other than a silver ring because Imam Tahawi related his chain of narrators to Sayyiduna Imran ibn Husain and Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with both of them). The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) forbade the wearing of gold rings. And it is narrated that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) wearing a ring made of brass. The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said:

“What is it that I smell the odor of idols from you, so he got rid of the ring.”

Then he came to the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) wearing a ring made of iron. So, The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said:

“What is it that I find on you the adornment of the people of hell fire.”

so he got rid of it and said: From what substance should I make my ring O Messenger of Allah? The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said:

“Make it from silver that is less then one Mithqal.”

So finally, here is your key :

A silver ring, with a weightless than one mithqal (4.5 Mashas or 67.5 grains troy), And any gemstone may or may not be added as per your choice.
