Online Quran classes in Phoenix, where the clocks never change.
Families across Phoenix and the Valley learn the Quran with us in private, live video lessons with a qualified teacher. Female teachers are available, and every lesson time is set with Arizona's year-round clock in mind.
Arizona does not observe daylight saving time
Most of Arizona stays on Mountain Standard Time all year. When the rest of the country moves its clocks forward in March, Phoenix does not, so its gap with the East Coast changes from two hours in winter to three hours in summer.
That matters for any schedule set on Eastern Time, including ours. Our teaching day is 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM Eastern, which in Phoenix means classes run until 9:30 PM from November to March and until 8:30 PM from March to November.

Two conversions, one clock
Phoenix keeps the same clock all year, but the East Coast does not, so the end of our teaching day moves by an hour twice a year in Phoenix time.
November to March
Classes run from 4:00 AM until 9:30 PM Phoenix time, so evening lessons are easy.
March to November
Classes run from 3:00 AM until 8:30 PM Phoenix time. A late-evening winter slot needs to move earlier.
Your teacher will confirm
When the East Coast changes its clocks in March and November, your teacher will check your standing slot with you.

A late-July start and a long, hot summer
Many Phoenix-area districts go back to school in late July or early August, among the earliest in the country, and finish in late May. The summer heat is extreme, and it pushes much of family life indoors in the afternoon, which makes a lesson at home a natural fit.
Daylight in Phoenix varies less than in northern cities. Maghrib falls around 5:20 in early December and around 7:40 in late June, and because Arizona's clocks never move, those times do not jump in March and November. The only shift to track is the end of our teaching day.
From July to September, the Arizona monsoon brings sudden storms to the Valley, along with haboobs, walls of dust that can roll across the city in minutes, often in the late afternoon and evening. A class at home avoids driving in them, as long as the power and internet stay on.
