All religions and societies have given an honorable status to parents. The beauty of parental love is that it’s the only form of love that is truly selfless, unconditional, and forgiving. We have to earn love from the rest of the world.

Dua for Parents

It is incredible for a child to fully return the love we were shown back to our parents. What we can do is to make Dua for parents and give respect to them.

Allah commands us to recite the following dua in every prayer, five times daily.

My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.

  • Dua for sick Parents

Seeing your parents go through sickness can be a challenging phase of life. Most of what you can do is be there for support and make Dua for Parents.

Hazrat Aishah (RA) reports that the Prophet (SAW) used to seek refuge in Allah for some of his family members. He used to touch them with his right hand, saying:

Oh, Allah! The Sustainer of Mankind! Remove the illness, cure the disease. You are the One Who cures. There is no cure except Your cure. Grant us a cure that leaves no illness.

  • Dua for Parents Who Passed Away

When your parents are passed away, they need your prayers even more. Pray to Allah to have mercy on your Parents.

Our Lord! Forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day when the judgment will come to pass.

(AlQuran 14:41)

  • Dua for Deceased Parents

If your Parents are no more with you, Recite Quran and Give Charity as much as you can to ask Allah for the forgiveness of their sins and to raise the Parents’ spirits.

Recite the following supplications for them,

O Allah, forgive him, and have mercy on him, and deliver him (from the torment and temptations of the grave.), And show him mercy, and show him a good welcome (that is, make his lot in paradise good), and make his grave spacious, and wash him with water, snow, and hail, and cleanse him from sins, as you cleanse white clothes from dirt, and give him in return a house better than his house, and a family better than his family and a wife better than his wife, and lead him into paradise and protect him from the torment of the grave and the torment of the fire!

And,

O Allah, forgive [name of the person] and elevate his station among those who are guided. Send him along the path of those who came before, and forgive him and us, O Lord of the worlds. Enlarge for him his grave, and shed light upon him in it.

  • Dua for Parents for having mercy

Our parents have sacrificed so much to raise us. We can never repay them for their kindness. However, we can do our best to honor them, treat them well and seek mercy from Allah Almighty for them.

“My Lord! Be merciful to them as they raised me when I was young.”

(AlQuran 17:24)

  • Dua for Parents forgiveness

My Lord! Forgive me, my parents, and whoever enters my house in faith, and all believing men and women.

(Surah Nuh, 71:28)

  • Dua for Parents for increasing blessings.

“My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and my parents and to do righteousness that you approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants.”

(Al-Quran 27:19)
