5 Best Duas for Having Children – Children Quran Class

by | Feb 8, 2019

The desire to have children is an instinct of every human being. It’s built-in in our genes. After marriage,  it’s the goal of every couple to have a family of their own where they can enjoy the giggles and laughter of their children. Sometimes if a couple is not able to conceive, there comes a lot of discomfort and stress.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

The desire to have children is an instinct of every human being. Ask Allah Almighty to have kids. Indeed He is the Provider.

قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً

My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring.

Sometimes even a relationship comes to a point where both spouses are deciding to discontinue. In such circumstances, one must never lose hope. If you have been unable to conceive, it does not mean you can never conceive in the future.
There can be many reasons and complications. Today medical science has reached the point of in vitro fertilization and test-tube babies, so there is no reason to be disappointed. Along with medication,
Duas hold equal importance.
You must not rely only on Duas or only on medication; both hold their importance. So here we have summarized a couple of Dua for having children.

Quranic Dua for Having Children

In Surah Al-Imran, we can find a very famous Dua for having children.

 رَبِّ هَب لى مِن لَدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَميعُ الدُّعاءِ
rabbi hab lee min ladunka thurriyyatan tayyibatan innaka sameeAAudduAAa

Translation: My Lord! grant me from Thee good offspring; surely Thou art the Hearer of prayer.”

[Surah Al-Imran ,verse 38]

Supplication of Prophet Zakariyya (Peace be upon him) for having a child:

رَبِّ لا تَذَرنى فَردًا وَأَنتَ خَيرُ الوٰرِثينَ
rabbi la tatharnee fardan waanta khayru alwaritheen
Translation: “O my Lord! leave me not without offspring, though thou art the best of inheritors.”

(Surah Al-Anbiya,verse 89)

Above is the supplication of Prophet Zakariyyah (peace be upon him).

Dua of Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him)

Getting a child is not enough! We must pray for a righteous child, and this dua fulfills the purpose.
رَبِّ هَب لى مِنَ الصّٰلِحينَ

Dua of Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him)

Translation: ” My Lord ! grant me (offspring) from the righteous. ”
(Surah As-Saffaat, verse 100)
Above is the dua of Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him)
Allah subahana hu wa tala has said in the Quran
Money and Children are the joys of this world
but at the same place, HE also says
know that your money and children are but a test for you“.
In that sense, just as Allah tests some people with wealth and others with poverty.
He tests some with children and others with not having children. Just as not having money is in no way a sign of Allah’s displeasure, not having children does not indicate Allah’s not being pleased with you.
Instead, Allah tests us all in unique ways, knowing what we can and can’t handle.
Remember ALLAH tests by giving and taking; in your case, maybe HE is judging you by not bestowing. If HE has chosen you for this trial, be patient and steadfast. Remember, faith is the key. If you trust HIM blindly and fully, He is shy to disappoint you!

All dua and recitation has its own significance and they make you feel neared to Allah. However, there are some that appeal you the most and you love saying them again and again. One of such daily life recitations for me is the Dua when Feeling annoyed or stressed.
