It is a common practice in our society that we think that the blessings of Ramadan are limited till the 27th of Ramadan.
We see Masajids are full of people rather jam-packed; especially on the 27th of Ramadan night. But the very next day; they are deserted, and the opposite scene is there. Why we forget that the night of 29 is still there? And the holy month is not yet ended. Have we forgotten that we might not be able to get this month of blessings the next year??
Allah is here to shower HIS mercy on all of us. But we are unfortunate not to collect them. And to let go of a chance to seeking understanding from our Allah. This holy month is a refresher course not limited to this month; but this course should continue throughout the year-round the clock.
Now is the time for all of us to decide that after the end of this month; whether we will follow AlQuran and Sunnah. or we will follow the footsteps of Shaitan.
Continuing the Spirit Beyond the 27th of Ramadan
While the 27th of Ramadan is undoubtedly a blessed night, it is essential to remember that the holy month of Ramadan extends beyond this night. The entire month is a gift for us to reconnect deeply with our Creator, culminating in the final ten days. The nights that follow the 27th, including the 29th, still hold the potential for immense blessings and forgiveness. The question we must ask ourselves is: do we seize every last opportunity, or do we limit ourselves to just one night?
Ramadan as a Training Ground
Ramadan serves as more than just a period of fasting and increased worship; it is a training ground for spiritual growth, self-control, and compassion. This month strengthens our relationship with Allah and helps us develop habits of prayer, charity, and self-discipline. These habits should ideally extend well beyond Ramadan. The month prepares us to maintain these positive changes throughout the year, making us stronger in faith, more resilient in worship, and steadfast in good deeds beyond 2th of Ramadan.
The Importance of Istiqamah (Steadfastness)
Allah loves consistency in worship, even if it is small. Ramadan gives us a taste of istiqamah, or steadfastness, in worship and obedience. However, it is up to us to carry this spirit forward. We need to hold on to our prayers, acts of charity, and kindness even after the blessed month ends. Consistency in these acts helps to keep the heart connected to Allah, maintaining the spiritual momentum gained during Ramadan and even after 27th of Ramadan.
Remembering the Potential of the 29th Night
The night of the 29th of Ramadan, often overlooked, holds immense value and potential for divine mercy and forgiveness. Allah, in His wisdom, has concealed Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Decree) so that believers strive in all of the last ten nights. By engaging in worship during each of these nights, including the 29th, we keep our intentions sincere and pure, not simply seeking reward but truly desiring closeness to Allah.
Reflecting on Surah Al-Fatiha: Our Guiding Prayer
Surah Al-Fatiha reminds us to seek guidance along the straight path and to avoid the paths of those who have gone astray. This prayer is a reminder that our journey is ongoing, and we constantly need Allah’s guidance. Ramadan rejuvenates this plea within us, making us aware of our dependence on Allah and the importance of staying on the path of righteousness.
Making a Lasting Change in Our Lives
As Ramadan comes to an end by passing 27th of Ramadan, it’s crucial to make a conscious decision about the path we will choose for the rest of the year. Will we carry forward the spirit of Ramadan, or will we return to old habits? Reflect on the choices we make daily and seek to align them with the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah, striving for a life that is pleasing to Allah.
Surah Al Fatiha:
Allah says in AlQuran surah Fatiha.
“You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything).Guide us to the Straight Way.The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace,. not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (i.e. those who knew the Truth, but did not follow it). nor of those who went astray. (i.e. those who did not follow the Truth out of ignorance and error).”
