Importance of Halal relationships

Halal means permissible in Arabic, so the Halal relationship is the one that is allowed under Islamic Law. For a Halal relationship, it has to be done with the knowledge and approval of both of your families, and usually, with a third-wheeling tagging along until the authorized kateb, ktab, or marriage contract is signed.

O men! Fear your Lord Who created you from a single being and out of it created its mate; and out of the two spread many men and women.1 Fear Allah in Whose name you plead for rights, and heed the ties of kinship. Indeed, Allah is ever watchful over you.

How was the Holy Prophet (PBUH) conduct with his wives?

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) treated his wives the way they should. His presence gratified them; tenderness, affection, and the love he provided were second to none. The Quran completely encapsulates the tranquility and love in marriage:

“And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought?”

(Al Quran, 30:21)

Hazrat Khadijah (RA) was his emotional and spiritual comfort source. Khadijah (RA) infused faith in him when He received the first revelation. He sought support and strength throughout his quest to uplift humankind in her.

His wife, Aisha (RA), was the one he spent his last days with, and throughout their marriage, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) treated her very gently and romantically. They played together, sipped from the same spot of the cup, and frequently exchanged sweet words.

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) encouraged women’s status from being men’s belongings to equal rank in the society with privileges and pride. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) yielded special attention to the women in his society, who had been disowned for any rights, liberty, and space earlier. He was patient and kind towards them and listened to their predicament.

Abu Hurrah (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:

“The most complete of the believer’s faith is the one with the best character. And the best of you are those who are best to their women.”
