Online Quran classes in Nova Scotia, on Atlantic Time.
Halifax, Dartmouth, Truro or Cape Breton: Nova Scotia students learn the Quran with us one-to-one on video, with a qualified teacher and a female teacher on request, all on Atlantic Time.
An hour ahead of the East Coast
Nova Scotia keeps Atlantic Time, an hour ahead of Toronto and New York, and changes its clocks on the same dates. Set against our Eastern schedule of 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM, Nova Scotia's day runs 7:00 AM until 12:30 AM.
That puts Nova Scotia in an unusually comfortable position: the whole evening is inside our teaching day, and the first lessons of the day start at a reasonable hour for families who want an early slot.

Our hours in Nova Scotia
Because Atlantic and Eastern Time move their clocks together, the conversion never drifts: classes always run from 7:00 AM to 12:30 AM Atlantic.
A sensible early start
The first slot is at 7:00 AM Atlantic, early enough for a lesson before school without a pre-dawn start.
The whole evening
From school pickup until past midnight, any hour can be booked.
Weekends
Saturday and Sunday are open from 7:00 AM onward.
Taught by qualified Quran teachers

Online Quran classes for families across Nova Scotia, including Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, Truro, and Sydney
A video lesson reaches Lower Sackville, Wolfville, New Glasgow and Yarmouth just as it reaches downtown Halifax.
Why families in Nova Scotia choose us
Nova Scotia families can book from 7:00 AM until 12:30 AM Atlantic Time, every day, before school, after it or late in the evening. Students in Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, Truro and Cape Breton learn one-on-one with a teacher from our 100+, women teachers available. We moved online in 2010, now teach 2,500+ students, and let every family try a free 30-minute trial class.
Maritime weather and the school year
Nova Scotia's schools follow a September-to-June year, with a winter break and a March break. Winter brings storms off the Atlantic, and the occasional post-tropical storm in the autumn can knock out power across the province.
When a storm closes schools but the power is on, an online lesson can go ahead as normal. If a storm knocks out your power or internet, contact our support team as soon as you can and they'll review the missed class under our make-up policy. Outside Halifax, where distances to any in-person class are long, an online lesson is often the only practical option.
Nova Scotia's population is spread along a long coastline, and outside the Halifax area the distance to any structured Quran class can be large. An online lesson gives a family in Yarmouth, Antigonish or Cape Breton the same access as one in the city.
