Do you know hereafter definition? Do you think about the world hereafter? How do you detach yourself from the Dunya? or need you really do that?
This is a question that often crosses our minds and leaves most of us thinking and confused.
Hereafter definition is different in Islam than the hereafter definition in other religions.
It is said that we should put as much effort into this world and the next depending on how much time we will spend in either. This world as we know is only a few short hours compared to the next world which is for eternity so isn’t it logical that we put MUCH more effort into eternity rather than for something that is so temporary that it may end at ANY second?
If we look at the Seerah of Prophet Nooh, we learn that he lived approximately a thousand years, and built towns and cities and everything on earth from scratch after the flood.
But at the time of his death, the angel of death found him lying on his back on bare earth in a tent that wasn’t even big enough to shelter his whole body, surprised the angel asked him why did he not build a house for himself in all these years. and Subhaan Allah looks at what he had to say to it.
He replied I had been waiting for you all those years. It never occurred to me to build a house for myself in such a short life. Subhan Allah. The angel then told him, there’d come a time when people won’t even live for a hundred year but they’ll have grand houses. Surprised Hazrat Nooh A.S. replied this short a life? If I was to spend such a short life I won’t ever raise my head from prostration.
Allah O Akbar!!
