21st century opened new doors to mankind, put forward new questions, brought new trends and made many fads outdated. Out of many good things it brought, one is realizing the value of spirituality and emphasizing on how to achieve it.

Zikr- Remembrance of Allah:

Spirituality is the way to know yourself and your Creator. Zikr (remembrance of Allah) is one way to be spiritual and is the food for soul.  It is the mode to remember God and praise Him. Our Creator Almighty Allah says about Zikr:

“Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do.” (29:45)

Remembrance of Allah or the Zikr should be accompanied by the repentance of sins as it makes our ibadaat purer and us dearer to Allah Almighty.

No disease is more terrible than the disease of the soul. Every day we commit things that cannot be categorized as good. Sometimes we know where we went wrong and can identify the ways to repent on our sins. Yet there are times when we know something is wrong with us and we are being careless Muslims but we cannot find out what exactly went wrong and how to fix it. That restlessness and dissatisfaction should not lead us to frustration but to positivity as stated by dear Prophet Muhammad S.A.W:

And follow up a bad deed with a good deed and it will wipe it out.”

Tirmidhi

Indulge yourself into Zikar:

Zikr of Allah is the easiest way to indulge ourselves in good deeds since it requires only pure intentions and a sensitive heart. It not only provides us with the opportunity to come closer to Allah but also helps us stay away from the bad and save time that could be wasted otherwise. Hence it is safe to say Zikr is the key to satisfaction and success. Allah certifies it by saying:

“He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself and mentions the name of his Lord (do Zikr) and prays”. (87:14-15)

Brothers and Sisters,

Who could offer a more authentic and reliable remedy for the ailments of our souls than the Creator Himself, the One who fashioned our hearts, minds, and inner depths? Allah, in His infinite wisdom, knows every hidden cause of our anxieties, every root of our frustrations, and the true depths of our sorrow. He understands what burdens our hearts and minds, what brings about depression, and what fuels the flames of restlessness within us.

While we often search in complex solutions, worldly distractions, or fleeting comforts to calm our troubled souls, Allah directs us to a simple, profound truth that transcends all these temporary fixes. He reveals a solution that is both beautifully straightforward and spiritually enriching:

“Only in the remembrance of Allah will your hearts find peace” (Quran 13:28).

This timeless prescription from our Creator urges us to turn our focus to Zikr, the remembrance of Allah, as a source of tranquility. In remembering Him, we reconnect to a power beyond this world, finding comfort in the nearness of the One who understands us completely. Indeed, through sincere, heartfelt remembrance, our hearts can find peace, our anxieties soften, and our spirits are lifted, helping us navigate life’s challenges with strength, purpose, and a profound sense of calm.
