Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around February 8, 2027, depending on the moon sighting. That means the six-week runway to build a real routine starts in the last week of December. Instead of overhauling everything the week Ramadan begins, this plan spreads the work out: fix the basics first, build the habit gradually, then step into Ramadan with a routine that’s already running.

Why the last-minute rush doesn’t work

It happens every year. Ramadan arrives, motivation spikes, and families try to triple their child’s Quran routine overnight: more memorization, longer sessions, a big new goal, all on top of suhoor, taraweeh and changed sleep. It rarely survives past the second week. A routine that starts before Ramadan, at a pace your child can keep, is far more likely to still be going on Eid.

The six-week plan

Week 1 (late December): Find out where things stand

Before adding anything, get an honest read on your child’s level. Are there pronunciation habits to correct? A memorization goal from last year that never got finished? A level check in a trial class is a quick way to find out instead of guessing. Then set one realistic goal for Ramadan, not five.

Week 2: Build the daily slot

Pick a specific time of day and protect it. The goal isn’t intensity yet, it’s consistency. A short daily session that always happens beats a long one that gets skipped.

Week 3: Fix pronunciation before the pace picks up

Use this week to correct recurring Tajweed mistakes rather than push forward. It’s much easier to fix a letter now, while things are calm, than in the middle of Ramadan when everyone is tired.

Week 4: Choose the actual Ramadan goal

Decide exactly what you’re aiming for: a set of short surahs to memorize, a portion of the Quran to read through, or simply reading every day without a new target. Write it down. “Read more Quran” rarely survives a real Ramadan schedule.

Week 5: Rehearse the Ramadan pieces

If the goal includes surahs your child will hear in taraweeh, start reviewing them now, while there’s time to fix mistakes calmly. This is also the week to think about timing: will classes move earlier in the day, or after iftar?

Week 6: Lock in the Ramadan schedule

Finalize class times for the month. If your usual slot won’t work once suhoor and taraweeh reshape the evening, talk to our support team about the schedule well before the month starts. Classes run from 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM Eastern, seven days a week, which gives room to move a class earlier or later.

During Ramadan and Eid

Once Ramadan starts, protect the routine you built rather than expanding it. The six weeks of preparation were the hard part.

A few practical points about classes during the month:

  • Missed a class? Request a make-up at least 48 hours ahead. The first two make-ups each subscription month are free; after that there’s a small fee.
  • Need a whole week off for travel or family? Ask for a break at least one business week ahead. Approval depends on teacher availability.
  • Eid: no make-up classes are offered for Eid al-Fitr, so plan around that day instead of counting on a make-up.

Adjusting the plan

Starting late? The plan works in fewer weeks. The order matters more than the timing: check the level, build the habit, fix pronunciation, then set the goal.

Several children? A group family class puts 2 to 4 siblings in one 60-minute class, which is one less thing to schedule in a busy month.

A child who struggles with long sessions? Keep Ramadan goals small. Our Shining Star classes are a fixed 15 minutes, one-on-one, for children with ADHD, autism and other learning needs.

FAQ

When does Ramadan 2027 start? It is expected around February 8, 2027, but the exact date depends on the moon sighting closer to the time.

Do we need all six weeks? No. The plan works compressed into fewer weeks. Keep the order: assess, build the habit, fix pronunciation, then set the goal.

Can we pause classes for part of Ramadan? You can request a break at least one business week ahead. Approval depends on teacher availability.

Are there make-up classes during Ramadan? Yes, request them at least 48 hours ahead, and the first two each subscription month are free. There are no make-ups for Eid al-Fitr.

What if my child has never had a structured Quran routine? Week 1 is for exactly that. If your child needs to start from the beginning, Noorani Qaida is the right first step, whenever Ramadan begins.
