For most single learners, one-on-one (Solo) classes give the fastest progress, because every minute of the lesson is theirs. For two to four children or relatives from the same family, a group family class usually costs less and is easier to schedule. For children with ADHD, autism or other learning needs, Shining Star offers short, one-on-one lessons with specially trained teachers. Here’s how to decide.

When one-on-one classes are the right choice

Solo classes suit almost any learner, and they’re the clear choice when:

  • It’s just one learner, child or adult.
  • Your children are at very different levels. A beginner on Noorani Qaida and a teenager polishing Tajweed won’t share an hour well.
  • The goal is Hifz. Quran memorization needs a personal plan for new lessons and revision.
  • A learner is shy or self-conscious. Many adults starting from the alphabet prefer to learn without anyone else listening.

The trade-off is cost and scheduling when several children each need their own slot. If you choose separate Solo or Shining Star plans for siblings, each additional child gets 5% off.

When a group family class makes more sense

Group family classes are built for households with several learners. They work well when:

  • Your children are close in level and get along.
  • Budget matters. Three children on Group Hidayah (three classes a week) cost $180 a month, against $255 for three separate Solo Hidayah plans.
  • Your week is full. One shared class time is easier to protect than several separate ones.
  • A parent wants to learn too. Parents can join their children’s group.

The trade-off is attention: in a shared hour, each learner gets less one-on-one correction.

When Shining Star is the better fit

Shining Star is our program for children with ADHD, autism, sensory sensitivities or other learning needs. Short, focused 15-minute sessions work best for many children who need extra support, and every lesson is one-on-one with a teacher specially trained to support them. If a standard 30-minute lesson or a shared class has been a struggle, this is usually the place to start.

A quick way to decide

  1. One learner? Choose Solo, or Shining Star if your child learns differently.
  2. Two to four learners from the same family, at similar levels? Try Group.
  3. Several learners at different levels? Separate Solo plans, with the sibling discount.
  4. Still unsure? Book a trial and ask the teacher. Seeing your children in a real lesson answers this faster than any comparison table.

You can change later

Your first choice doesn’t have to be your last. If one child pulls ahead in a group class, or a child on Shining Star is ready for longer lessons, talk to our support team about changing plans.
