As the clocks spring forward, AlQuranClasses wishes to ensure our North American Muslim community is well-informed and prepared for the upcoming change in schedule due to Daylight Saving Time (DST), beginning on March 10th, 2024. This annual shift not only signifies longer days and shorter nights but also impacts our daily routines, including the timing of our dedicated one-to-one online Quran courses.

Understanding Daylight Saving Time

Daylight Saving Time is a practice where the clocks are set forward by one hour during the warmer parts of the year, so that evenings have more daylight and mornings have less. This year, DST starts on March 10th, 2024, and will end on November 3rd, 2024. As we adjust our clocks forward, it’s essential to remember that this shift could affect our scheduled classes and daily rituals.

How DST Affects Your Quran Classes

Our one-to-one online Quran courses are scheduled according to the local time zones of our students across North America. With the clock moving forward by an hour, your class times may also shift accordingly. Here’s what you need to know:

Class Timing Adjustment: Your classes will move one hour ahead, along with the local time change. For instance, if your class is currently at 5 PM, it will shift to 6 PM local time starting March 10th.

Seamless Transition: We aim to make this transition as smooth as possible for all students. We will automatically adjust the class times in our scheduling system, ensuring you don’t miss out on any sessions.

Flexible Rescheduling: We understand that this time change may conflict with your other commitments. If the new timings are inconvenient, please reach out to us for a reschedule. Our flexible scheduling options are designed to accommodate your needs.

Tips for Adjusting to the Time Change

Gradual Adjustment: In the days leading up to DST, start going to bed and waking up 15 minutes earlier each day. This gradual change can help ease the transition.

Update Your Alarms: Remember to adjust your alarms, especially for Fajr prayers and your Quran class, to reflect the time change.

Check Your Tech: Most smartphones, computers, and digital devices automatically adjust for DST. However, it’s always a good idea to double-check to ensure you’re on the right schedule.

Stay Informed: Keep an eye on emails and notifications from AlQuranClasses for any updates or changes to your class schedules.
