Fatma Al-Zahraa Fakhry finished memorizing the Quran at the age of twelve, learning alongside her brothers and sisters with her parents' help.

She has taught Quran and Arabic to new Muslim sisters as a volunteer. Her degree is in Urdu from the oriental languages department at Ain Shams University — an unusual combination, and a useful one for families from Pakistani and Indian backgrounds.
