Life can be either for us or against us. Each moment, each choice, carries us closer to the pleasure of Allah and ultimate success, or further toward His displeasure and ultimate loss. Life can be a journey that fills us with joy in this world but brings sorrow in the next, or it can be a path that may bring hardship now but grants eternal happiness.
The truly successful person is the one who sees life for what it is—a fleeting test from Allah to reveal the true nature of His servants. This life is not meant for complacency; rather, it’s an opportunity to prove our devotion, sincerity, and obedience to Allah.
Seek Allah’s Guidance and Mercy
Strive to seek the pleasure of Allah and avoid straying from His mercy by disobeying Him. Seek His pardon, and He will forgive; ask for His guidance, and He will lead you. Avoid being swayed by those who turn away from Allah and seek the company of the righteous, those who encourage and support you in obedience to Him.
Before any action, pause and ask yourself: Will Allah approve of this? Will He be pleased with me? Will this deed bring reward or accountability? This self-reflection not only strengthens faith but also helps align our intentions with the purpose Allah has set for us.
Remember Your True Purpose
Allah is our Creator, the One who sustains the Earth and all that is in it. Everything belongs to Him. How then can we, living on His Earth and using the bodies He has blessed us with, disobey Him without hesitation? It is time to acknowledge the immense blessings we have and to use them in a way that pleases Allah.
Now is the time to strive to be better human beings. Let us dedicate our lives to seeking Allah’s approval, fulfilling our purpose, and ultimately achieving success in the eternal life to come.
Recognize the Fleeting Nature of This World
This life, with all its allure and distractions, is temporary. Wealth, power, and worldly success are only momentary gifts that can vanish in an instant. Allah has made this world a test, where each blessing or hardship serves as an opportunity to prove our devotion and patience. Understanding the fleeting nature of this world reminds us to focus on what truly matters—our relationship with Allah and our preparation for the Hereafter. When we see life as a temporary journey, we free ourselves from worldly attachments and embrace what brings us closer to eternal peace.
Embrace Patience and Gratitude
One of the greatest virtues we can cultivate in this life is patience, especially in times of difficulty, and gratitude in moments of ease. Hardships test our faith and resilience, pushing us to turn to Allah and rely on Him alone. Meanwhile, blessings remind us of Allah’s mercy and generosity, urging us to respond with gratitude and humility. Embracing patience and gratitude not only strengthens our faith but also shapes our character, making us kinder, more compassionate, and grounded in our purpose.
Surround Yourself with Righteous Company
The people we choose to surround ourselves with have a profound impact on our values, behaviour, and faith. Being in the company of those who strive for righteousness keeps us on the path of goodness and reminds us of our duty to Allah. Good company encourages us, advises us sincerely, and strengthens our resolve to seek Allah’s pleasure. Seek friends who remind you of Allah, inspire you to do good, and keep you away from what displeases Him. In this way, we strengthen each other, striving to achieve ultimate success in this life and the next.
