Why Muslims?

Whenever there is any suicide bombing or act of terrorism is performed, only Muslims and Islam is blamed without knowing the real teachings of Islam. Islam strictly prohibits the murder and killing of innocent people that nullify the terrorism in Islam as its biggest sin in Islam.
Islam is a religion that means “peace” and surrender to the only one Allah (God). In the Quran, the Holy Book of Islam, Allah commands believers to bring peace and security to mankind. The Islamic morality is the cure for terrorism, not the source of it. (Book: Islam denounces terrorism, Author: Haroun Yahya)
As being Muslims our success lies in obeying of Allah’s sayings e.g. Quran and His Messenger Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him)’s way and sayings e.g. Sunnah.

Religion of Peace:

Quran refers to Islam as religion of spreading peace and love among mankind. We see it is said in chapter 60: surah Mumtahina: Ayat 8:-

“Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly”

“You who believe! Enter peace (Islam) totally. Do not follow in the footsteps of satan. He is an outright enemy to you.” (chap2-Surat al-Baqara, Ayat 208)

The word “Islam” comes from root word “Salama or Silm” which means “peace and security”.

“Allah calls to the Abode of Peace and He guides whom He wills to a straight path.”(Surah Yunus, 25)

Islam is Love:

Islam is a religion which is based on mercy, love, forgiveness, kindness, tolerance, sympathy, hospitality and brotherhood:

It clearly depicts from following Quranic verses.

“The believers are brothers, so make peace between your brothers and fear Allah so that hopefully you will gain mercy.” (Surat al-Hujurat, 10)

Allah clarifies

“Obey Allah and His Messenger and do not quarrel among yourselves lest you lose heart and your momentum disappears. And be steadfast. Allah is with the steadfast.” (Surat al-Anfal, 46)

Another verse

“As for those who believe and do right actions, the All-Merciful will bestow His love on them.”(Surah Maryam, 96)

“You are the best nation ever to be produced before mankind. You enjoin the right, forbid the wrong and believe in Allah.” (Surah Al ’Imran, 110)

“Make allowances for people, command what is right, and turn away from the ignorant.”(Surat al-A’raf, 199)

Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) prohibits unjust killing

In any military conflicts He prohibits soldiers killing women, children, old people, or any civilian. He would advise them:

“…Do not betray, do not be excessive, do not kill a newborn child.”

Prophet Muhammad teaching is that murder considered as the second of the major sins (the first major sin is denying the oneness of God), and he even warned that on the Day of Judgment,

“The first cases to be adjudicated between people on the Day of Judgment will be those of bloodshed.”

Muslims are kind to even Animals:

Muslims are encouraged to be kind and peaceful even to animals and are forbidden to hurt them. Once the Prophet Muhammad (peace upon him) said:

“A woman was punished because she imprisoned a cat until it died. On account of this, she was doomed to Hell. While she imprisoned it, she did not give the cat food or drink, nor did she free it to eat the insects of the earth.} He also said that a man gave a very thirsty dog a drink, so God forgave his sins for this action. The Prophet was asked,

“Messenger of God, are we rewarded for kindness towards animals?” He said: ‘There is a reward for kindness to every living animal or human.’”

Additionally, while taking the life of an animal for food, Muslims are commanded to do so in a manner that causes the least amount of fright and suffering possible. The Prophet Muhammad (peace upon him) said:

“When you slaughter an animal, do so in the best way. One should sharpen his knife to reduce the suffering of the animal.”

In light of above text, the bombing and maiming of innocent men, women, and children are all forbidden and detestable acts according to Islam and the Muslims. Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the vast majority have nothing to do with the violent events some have associated with Muslims. If an individual Muslim were to commit an act of terrorism, this person would be guilty of violating the laws of Islam.
