The saint, unfazed by the harshness of the royal servant’s words, replied with calm defiance, “And why should I bow before you?”

The Arrogance of Worldly Servitude

Slavery of Allah- The royal servant, his pride wounded, responded in an even more domineering tone. “I am the trusted servant of the king! When he sleeps, I guard him. When he hungers, I provide his food. He trusts no one in his matters but me.”
