“Islam began as something strange, and it shall return to being something strange, so give glad tidings to the strangers.” [Hadith: Sahih Muslim]
We all love the feeling of being different in our worldly matters. We love to own the latest things to stay at the top, to remain the different one, to possess all the best things before anyone. How strange is that when it comes to islam we are afraid of being the different one in the society. HOW COME?ghuraba
We love to be the trend setters in the worldly matters but not a trend setter when it comes to revive any Sunnah. So if you have the same fear then this Hadith is just for you.
Our beloved Prophet(saw) gave such a motivating advice to all of us, from which we can drive energy and go on being strange. According to the Hadith, when Islam came it was viewed as something strange, those who followed it turned into strangers. Then it grew and the Hadith tells us that near the end of time it will return to its original state of being strange. People will look at those who pray as strangers, those who will cover will be strangers, those abstain from the prevailing evil as strangers. ghuraba
So, for all those our Prophet (saw) said: فَطُوبَى لِلْغُرَبَاءِ
So the next time you feel you are the odd one out in the gathering, then you are the stranger and you should be happy as Prophet (saw) has send you glad tidings. Let us all pray to be one of them.ghuraba
